About Us

Alastair Pollitt

Alastair graduated from the University of Aberdeen with degrees in Chemistry, Education and Psychology. He learned test development and analysis in the Godfrey Thomson Unit in the University of Edinburgh, before moving in 1990 to the Research Centre for English and Applied Linguistics in the University of Cambridge. After four years in Aplied Linguistics he was appointed Director of Research in the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (now Cambridge Assessment). He left there in 2004 to work as an independent consultant and set up CamExam with Ayesha Ahmed in 2007.



Ayesha Ahmed

Ayesha has a degree in Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Warwick and a PhD in Cognitive Development from the University of Sussex. She has worked in the Psychology of Educational Assessment since 1998. She worked with Alastair Pollitt at the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (now Cambridge Assessment), until 2006 when she then became an independent consultant and set up CamExam with Alastair Pollitt in 2007.

Ayesha is a supervisor for Homerton College, Cambridge and a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Assessment and Learning Studies in the University of Bristol.
